U2 Adam Clayton's former assistant goes on trial for theft

It was a long day in court today, by all accounts as the 181 charges against Carol Hawkins was read out in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. She is accused of taking cash worth €2.8 million form his bank accounts from 2004 to 2008. The trial will start hearing evidence tomorrow with 30 witnesses expected, including U2's bass-player  Adam Clayton.

David O'Shea - the latest instalment of 'When Lawyers Go Bad'

Dublin solicitor David O'Shea admitted in court today to pocketing €450,000 of his clients' money. He claimed  that he had been threatened by fraudster Giovanni di Stefano during the six-year period when he was dipping into clients' cash. read RTE's report here.
