Fake designer clothes still a cash cow for criminal gangs

There's nothing like a bargain in recessionary times and fake designer clothes are proving to be worth a lot of cash to unscrupulous clothes dealers. Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and Nike were all targets for an Irish gang flogging dodgy gear. Gardai recently had a good result against them, seizing €600,000 worth of goods. They imported the cheap knock-offs from India and Pakistan and sewed the bogus labels here in Ireland. Bogus cigarettes and pharmaceuticals are also big business, not to mention potential risks to health. Remember, if it looks too good to be true then it's dodgy and if it exists it can be counterfeited. Read Tom Brady's story here. Read more posts about counterfeit goods, click here.
